works great for me

we needed a remote switch to avoid having to tear open (and repair) the ceiling and wall to fish through a wire to an electrical circuit that didn't yet exist.  there has always been a ceiling fixture there which was operated only by a pull-chain, as the existing fixture was hard-wired without a wall switch.  we decided to replace the existing light fixture with a really nice old one, and a thought a pull-chain would look pretty tacky and not terribly convenient.  we wanted a solution that wouldn't ruin the look of our "new" vintage fixture, and this switch was perfect.we installed the receiver inside the canopy(ceiling plate) of  the new hanging light fixture so it was invisible. it wasn't the easiest installation, but with two of us, we managed to get it installed and mounted on the ceiling. we were a bit skeptical that the signal would reliably work through the metal housing, but so far, just fine (several weeks now).  we did test the remote switch before installation, and it worked well no matter where iin the house we put the switch (through walls and doors, up to 60-80 feet away). it even operated the light from outside the house up to quite a distance.  it's too soon to speak to the battery life we'll get from the switch.  and if the receiver ever stops working, or somehow becomes "un-paired," it would be a pain to access the receiver inside the light's canopy, but that's not really a switch problem.  btw, the switch and receiver were pre-paired so we didn't have to do any sort of set up at all--just installation.

Will Be Buying More

When we bought our house last year, we notice that several of the lights have pull-cord switches, which is very annoying. This product allowed us to update our light fixtures without having to re-wire. The remote switch can be a bit touchy, I recommend not standing in front of it when trying to use it, as you can block the signal. Overall, very pleased.
